Giving back
dignity to the elderly.
We restore protection, care and belonging for older persons across Kenya through community-based, rights-driven support starting with the people of East Kanyakwar, Kadem, Migori County.
Background & Justification
Dignity shouldn't run out with age.
Kenya's elderly population continues to face poverty, neglect, poor health, social isolation, and limited access to social protection. Despite the enactment of the Older Persons Act (2022) and the National Social Protection Policy, many older persons especially in rural and low-income urban settings remain excluded from essential services and community support systems.
Dignity for the Elderly Trust seeks to complement government and community efforts by restoring dignity, protection, and care for elderly persons through community-based, rights-driven, and inclusive interventions.
Vision
A society where every elderly person lives with dignity, care, and respect.
Mission
To restore and safeguard the dignity of elderly people by enhancing access to care, social protection, and community support in line with national policies and human rights principles.
